The Individualized Education Program process and Composing the IEP. The IEP is an educational map that lays out the program of special education instruction, supports, and services that a student needs to access and make gains in the general education curriculum. In this workshop, we will look at the initial process for preschool and school aged students. Beginning with the referral process, then segway into the evaluation process, the initial meeting, and program recommendations.
This workshop will also highlight the Kindergarten IEP meeting, eligibility, IEPS and IESPs. Furthermore, we will take an in depth look at each component of the IEP. The purpose of the section is outlined and examples of appropriate content to include within each section is provided.

SMART Goals and Secondary Goals. S.M.A.R.T Goals are a powerful framework for setting and achieving objectives. They provide valuable guidance for teachers in their professional growth and in giving students much needed support.
In this workshop, we define a S.M.A.R.T Goal, its purpose, give examples of these goals and tips/tricks for creating your own. Furthermore, we delve into secondary goals, examples of these goals and when it is appropriate to be used.
Classroom Management & Routines refers to an array of skills and strategies that teachers use to keep students orderly, focused, on task, and productive during a class. It involves creating a structured learning environment with clear rules and expectations that promote learning. This system reinforces consequences with the goal of diminishing/eliminating undesirable behaviors.
Behavior Management is crucial as it impacts both the teacher’s ability to be an effective educator and the students’ success as learners. It fosters a positive learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging and are motivated to engage and learn.
Within these workshops, we will support educators with developing the essential skills needed to create a classroom atmosphere that maximizes student engagement and minimizes learning disruptions.
The Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is a process used by schools to understand and address challenging behavior in students. It aims to identify the specific behaviors causing difficulties and uncover the factors that maintain or trigger those behaviors. Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) are essential tools used to address challenging behaviors within the school environment. BIPs aim to reduce or eliminate problematic behaviors while promoting positive alternatives.
In this workshop, we will delve into each component of the Functional Behavioral Assessment. We will also learn how the information obtained from the FBA is utilized in developing the Behavior Intervention Process. We will support teachers in writing/developing effective FBA’s and BIP’s.
Response to Intervention (RTI) is an educational approach designed to help identify and support students who are struggling academically or behaviorally. RTI aims to identify students who are struggling as early as possible, so they can receive the help they need before falling too far behind. A multi-tiered system of support is utilized. This approach relies heavily on progress monitoring and data derived from assessments to provide timely supports’ ensuring student success.
In this workshop we will learn how to identify students who are struggling as early as possible. We will also support educators with developing an approach to implementing tiered supports for students in need of intervention.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports is an evidence-based framework designed to improve students’ behavioral, social, emotional, and academic outcomes in schools.
In this workshop we will look at the Three Tiers, Elements and Benefits of PBIS. We will delve into implementing PBIS in schools through leadership while defining roles and modeling expected student and professional behaviors. Finally, we will provide best practices for creating a positive and safe learning environment for all.
